Franck Riboud Joins Accor’s Supervisory Board

Mr. Franck Riboud, Chairman and CEO of the Groupe
DANONE, has joined Accor’s Supervisory Board. He was coopted to the Board
today by the existing members, and his nomination will be ratified at Accor’s
next annual shareholders’ meeting.
Mr. Riboud succeeds Mr. Jean-Marie Fourier, Honorary CEO of the Thomson
group, who expressed his intention to resign from Accor’s Supervisory Board.
Mr. Fourier served as a board member of Novotel SIEH in 1968, then of Accor
in 1983; he became a member of the Supervisory Board at the time of its
creation in 1997.
Mr. Franck Riboud, age 45, is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale
de Lausanne.
He first joined the BSN group in 1981, and from that time to 1989, held
positions responsible for management control, marketing and sales.
In September 1989, he was named Department Manager in charge of
integrating and developing new companies in the Biscuits Division. In that
capacity, Mr. Riboud managed the biggest acquisition of a US company by a
French group, namely BSN’s takeover of Nabisco’s European operations.
In July of 1990, Mr. Riboud became General Manager of the Evian mineral water
company.

On May 2, 1996, he was named Chairman and CEO of the Groupe DANONE by
the board of directors.
