30th Oct 2002

Burj Al Arab has recently opened its new beachfront venue ‘Majlis Al Bahar’, the latest addition to the hotel’s already wide selection of quality restaurants and lounges.

‘Majlis Al Bahar’ is a highly sophisticated, yet casual beachfront restaurant overlooking the enchanting waters of the Arabian Gulf and the spectacular Burj Al Arab. The restaurant combines a special mix of Arabian ingenuity and modern convenience and is complemented by Burj Al Arab’s exclusive, luxury facilities and services. ‘Majlis Al Bahar’ features an open dining area, a lounge and a private beach with sun loungers.

Slightly hidden behind the palm trees and lush landscaping at the end of the gently curving causeway leading to Burj Al Arab, ‘Majlis Al Bahar’ is an exclusive and private restaurant with a seating capacity of 88 covers. The ambience blends in nicely with nature in every detail; from the staff uniforms to the décor with natural wood and colours, all in harmony with the restaurants natural surroundings.

The private beach area features specially designed sun loungers where guests can enjoy complimentary mineral water, cold face towels and Evian moisturizer spray. A wide selection of beverages and snacks can be ordered whilst enjoying Dubai’s guaranteed sunshine.

The menu at ‘Majlis Al Bahar’ features a selection of light simple and fresh dishes, offering a nice mix of Middle Eastern and European flavours. Sample signature dishes from the a la carte menu include ‘fresh local rocca lettuce with zaatar, grilled halloumi cheese and marinated baby aubergines’, ‘Oven-baked seafood casserole with a lemon balm rice’, ‘Grilled veal picatta with sambal olek potatoes and fattoush salad’, ‘Linguine with Arabic spiced prawns, grilled zucchini and tomato olive sauce’ and ‘Pistachio and almond Bohsalino with fresh cheese and rose water ice cream’.

‘Majlis Al Bahar’ is open daily from 10:00am to midnight serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. During the day the restaurant is reserved for Burj Al Arab guests and Assawan Spa & Health Club members and after 6:00pm, ‘Majlis Al Bahar’ is open to the public. Continental breakfast is served from 10:00am to 11:30am and the a la carte menu is available from 12:00 noon to 11:00pm.
