Baton Rouge Hotel Becomes A Marriott

Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced today the re-flagging of the Baton Rouge Hotel from a Hilton to a Marriott property. The 300-room hotel, located on 5500 Hilton Avenue, is owned by Columbia Properties Baton Rouge Ltd. and managed by Columbia Sussex of Ft. Mitchell, Ky.

The 21-story Baton Rouge Marriott offers 16,500 square feet of meeting space for conferences and social occasions, with the largest room measuring 6,500 square feet.

Guest room amenities include two phone lines with voice mail and data port, iron and ironing board, hair dryer, in-room coffee service, cable TV with HBO. High-speed Internet access will be installed in the near future. The hotel features free parking, dry-cleaning service, gift shop and room service. A business center will soon be available for all guests.

Four floors of the hotel are designated as Concierge levels, with sixteen rooms on each level. Enhanced amenities for Concierge-level guest rooms includes bathrobes and bathroom scales. Guests on the Concierge levels have access to a private lounge where continental breakfast is served daily as well as an array of desserts in the evening.

All hotel guests can dine at Cafe Acadian, a full-service restaurant adjoining the lobby bar that serves Cajun-American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Baton Rouge Marriott is located 20 minutes from the Baton Rouge Metro Airport, 20 minutes from Southern University and eight miles from Louisiana State University. Other nearby attractions and business destinations include shopping and restaurants, the Baton Rouge Zoo and the offices of Exxon Chemical.
