Marriott International And Air China Forge Partnership Agreement

Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) and Air China have forged a partnership agreement that rewards members of Air China`s Companion Frequent Flyer Program each time they stay at any Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard, Ramada International and New World hotel in China, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR. The program is effective May 1, 2000.

Under the partnership agreement, Air China`s Companion members earn 800 km (500 miles) each time they stay at any of the 20 hotels represented by these lodging brands and pay the corporate rate. Members who pay a domestic corporate or promotional rate earn 400 km (250 miles).


We are very excited by this agreement with Air China, said Geoff Garside, senior vice president Ð Asia, Pacific & Australia, for Marriott International. It enables us to better serve our growing consumer base in China, especially our guests who tend to travel primarily within China. This program nicely complements our other strategic alliances in the region in that it is targeted primarily to consumers traveling within China and is indicative of our corporate commitment to China.

From May 1 to July 31, 2000, Companion members have the opportunity to earn double miles when staying at the following hotels:

* Jing Guang New World Hotel Beijing
* Chongqing Marriott Hotel
* China Hotel by Marriott, Guangzhou
* JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong
* Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong
* Courtyard by Marriott Kunming
* New World Courtyard Shunde
* Yangtze New World Hotel Shanghai

Air China is the largest passenger airline in China, serving more than 86 cities in China, and has an expanding international network reaching 95 cities in 21 countries.

Marriott International hotels in China are located in the following 13 cities: Hong Kong, Chongqing, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shunde, Wuhan, Wuxi, Kunming, Harbin, Shanghai, Xian, and Macau.
