Jackson Hole Ski Resort Converted To Renaissance

Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites announced today it has converted a 101-room property in Jackson Hole, Wyo., to a Renaissance Resort. Located in Teton Village, the Renaissance Resort & Spa at Jackson Hole will be owned and operated as a franchise by Sojourner Lodge Management of Jackson Hole, Wyo. With the conversion, Renaissance adds its first ski resort location increases the total number of properties to 81 worldwide. Renaissance Hotels, Resorts and Suites is a full-service lodging brand of Marriott International, Inc. (MAR / NYSE).

Recently refurbished, the Renaissance Resort & Spa at Jackson Hole is nestled at the base of the Jackson Hole ski area and is adjacent to both Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Surrounded by working cattle ranches and mountain ranges, the western-style property features rough hewn wood floors, large stone fireplaces, handcrafted leather and chenille furniture, and elk and moose antler chandeliers.

Guestrooms offer goose down comforters, wrought iron light fixtures and hand-rubbed honey pine furnishings. For dining, the Renaissance Resort & Spa at Jackson Hole features two restaurants, J. Hennessey`s and the Pub & Grille. The lobby bar serves cocktails beside a cozy fireplace. The resort`s Conference Center, completed in 1998, features 3,500 square feet of meeting space and accommodates groups from 10 to 200 people.

The Renaissance Resort & Spa at Jackson Hole also plans to expand the property in 2000, including the addition of a new spa and pool complex. The five-story spa, complete with sauna, treatment rooms, an indoor-outdoor pool with waterfalls, hot tubs and a private health club, is scheduled for completion in May 2000. The resort also is building several luxurious one-, two- and three-bedroom condominiums, which will be fully equipped with kitchens, fireplaces and whirlpool spa tubs. The condominiums are slated to open in December 2000.
