Marriott International, Inc. Assumes Management Of The Hyatt Regency Pusan Today

Marriott International (MAR / NYSE) assumed management of the 363-room Hyatt Regency Pusan in South Korea today. Owned by Jinsan Asset H&M, L.L.C., the hotel is located on a prime beachfront site at Haeundae Beach, about 30 minutes from downtown Pusan and approximately an hour`s drive from Kimhae International Airport. Pusan is South Korea`s second largest city. The hotel was opened in 1988.

For dining and recreation, the Pusan Marriott Hotel has three restaurants featuring casual, international and Japanese cuisine. Lounges include a lobby lounge and Murphy`s, an entertainment center. Recreational amenities include an indoor swimming pool and fitness center, a beachfront jogging course and a variety of watersports. Within an hour`s drive of the hotel are three golf courses; tennis courts and a yachting marina are within walking distance.
For social events and conferences, the Pusan Marriott Hotel has 677 square meters of function space, including a 489-square-meter ballroom that is divisible into two sections. In addition, the hotel has an 188-square-meter meeting room that is divisible into two sections and a 48-square-meter boardroom.

The Pusan Marriott Hotel is fully equipped with smoke detectors, in-room sprinklers and other life safety systems.

Dietmar Salat, formerly director of food & beverage at the Singapore Marriott Hotel, is the general manager of the Pusan Marriott Hotel.
Elsewhere in Korea, Marriott International is represented by the 402-room Ritz-Carlton Seoul and the 500-room Renaissance Seoul Hotel. The 498-room JW Marriott Hotel Seoul is scheduled to open early next year.
