Marriott To Manage On Three New Hotels In Little Lake Bryan Area Of Orlando
Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE/MAR) announced it will manage three new hotels in the Little Lake Bryan area: a 312-room Courtyard by Marriott, a 388-room Fairfield Inn and a 400-room SpringHill Suites. Construction has begun on the 30-acre site of the hotel complex, called The Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan, located at Exit 27, off Interstate 4, on the southeast corner of State Road 535.
The three hotels, due to open in early summer 2000, are owned by CNL Hospitality Group, affiliate of CNL Group, Inc., headquartered in Orlando, Fla. The land for the project was purchased in 1999 from the Little Lake Bryan Company, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. The Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan will be a gated community with the three hotels separated by cobble-stoned street with seven specialty shops and three restaurants adjacent to the hotels. Each hotel will feature separate adult and children`s pools with outdoor pool bars and grills.
The Marriott Village at Little Lake Bryan will offer travelers who are visiting the Orlando area for vacation or business a variety of moderately priced accommodations plus the convenience of shopping and dining on the site, said Craig Lambert, a senior vice president for Marriott. We are thrilled about the project and believe the addition of these hotels will be a great addition to the Orlando area.
The project, for which Marriott invested $100 million, will bring 300 to 400 jobs to the area. Marriott has 28 Orlando area hotels comprising of 8,406 rooms that employ more than 3,500 associates.
The hotels include three full-service Marriott hotels; two Renaissance hotels; nine courtyards, five Residence Inns, four Fairfield Inns and a SpringHill Suites hotel. Marriott also operates four vacation ownership resorts in the Orlando area.

The new five-story Courtyard hotel will be a welcomed option for leisure travelers as well as business travelers, for which the hotel brand is primarily designed. Vacationers will like the on-premises restaurant, fitness room, indoor and outdoor pool and meeting space to accommodate family gatherings, reunions or weddings of up to 200 people. For those on business, the hotel will feature an exclusive business level floor as well as business library complete with fax and copy service and other business amenities. The hotel is scheduled to open in May 2000.
The new Fairfield Inn, Marriott`s economy lodging product designed for the value-conscious traveler, will feature an outdoor pool, fitness room and a complimentary continental breakfast available each morning in the lobby. To stay in touch with the office or folks back home, Fairfield Inn offers guests free local fascmile, copy service and local phone calls. The hotel is scheduled to open in April 2000.
The new SpringHill Suites is Marriott`s newest all-suite moderately priced lodging product, which offers increased space and functionality. Each suite is up to 25% larger than a traditional hotel guest room and features separate working/eating, sleeping and relaxing area that appeal to both leisure and business travelers, especially women and families. The hotel will feature a complimentary breakfast, fitness room, outdoor pool as well as personal size refrigerators and microwaves in each suite. The hotel is due to open in June of 2000.
