Marriott Announces Marketing Agreement

Marriott International, Inc. (MAR/NYSE) has announced a new marketing agreement with The Atrium, a 136-room luxury serviced apartment development, in Hong Kong. Under the new agreement, the The Atrium will be operated under the Marriott Executive Residences brand.

Owned by Swire Properties Ltd., The Atrium is adjacent to the JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong and is an integral part of Pacific Place, a five million square-foot mixed-use development of hotels, offices and shops including exclusive boutiques, restaurants, banks and cinemas.

We are have had a long term-relationship with Swire Properties and our delighted to introduce the Marriott Executive Residences brand in Hong Kong, said Ed Fuller, president and managing director of Marriott Lodging International.

The Atrium features fully-furnished one- and two-bedroom units, penthouses and duplexes all with private landscaped gardens. In addition, residents can enjoy the Atrium Lounge on the 37th floor as well as the swimming pool and health club at the JW Marriott Hong Kong.

Other features include full-kitchens, work desks, direct telephone lines, 24-hour security, room service, housekeeping daily, washers/dryers and parking for long-term guests and an on-site business center.

Guests who stay at the The Atrium under Marriott Executive Residences will earn Marriott Rewards points. Reservations can be made in the continental U. S. by calling 1-800-228-9290. Outside the U.S., interested travelers can contact the nearest Marriott general sales agent or Marriott worldwide sales office.

Active negotiations for additional Marriott Executive Residences are currently underway in the following locations: Dalian and Shanghai in China; Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Prague, the Czech Republic; Mumbai, India and Mexico City, Mexico.

Marriott expects to have about 25 Marriott Executive Residences in operation by 2002.
