Hilton and Doubletree`s Family Fun a Top Priority

A recent study from the American Psychology Association on the relationship between work and family indicates that quality family time has a positive effect in the workplace, making people feel more confident in their careers and giving them the ability to efficiently handle stressful situations. Recognizing the need for family support, Hilton Hotels Corporation offers its summer Vacation Station program year-round at 23 of its U.S. and Canada Hilton and Doubletree properties to encourage togetherness among its guests.
Though quality family time may decrease stress in one`s life, many families cannot find the time to organize trips and outings once fall begins and kids settle into their back-to-school routines. A program in its 10th year, Vacation Station is specifically designed to give families hassle-free time to bond, preventing quality family time from becoming a summer novelty.

The program boosts family fun with a free Toy Lending Desk that offers toys and board games for families to play. Hilton and Doubletree support the Million Minute Family Challenge, by encouraging hotel guests to play games and log their minutes at www.millionminute.com. The Million Minute Family Challenge is sponsored by Patch Games, and challenges 1,000 families and close friends in all 50 states to play a board game together for at least 20 minutes, in order to build family fun in their everyday lives. Vacation Station also features a welcome gift for kids, destination-specific information about local happenings and attractions for parents and supervised kids activities at select participating properties.

“Just because summer is over does not mean that families and friends can`t set aside a special time to have fun together,” said Joanie Flynn, vice president of leisure marketing for Hilton Hotels Corporation. “Hilton and Doubletree have many properties that have made family programming a priority, offering families a chance to relax and spend some time together after a hectic week of work, school and soccer games.”

Children ages 18 and under stay free in the same room with their parents or grandparents at all U.S. Vacation Station properties (subject to room occupancy and local fire safety regulations). Vacation Station is offered at no additional charge to guests traveling with children age 12 and under to participating hotels. Participation fees and age qualification at resorts and hotels offering supervised activities vary by location and season.
