Le Meridien Appoints New Vice President Finance

Independent luxury hotel group, Le Méridien has appointed Iain Ferguson to the role of vice president finance. He moves from Thomson Travel Group plc where he was group treasurer and director of corporate finance.

In his new role Iain will head-up a 14-strong team responsible for all taxation, treasury, company secretarial and internal audit matters for the group, which comprises more than 140 hotels and resorts in 55 countries.

Based at Le Méridien’s head office in London and reporting to chief financial officer, David Maloney, he will also lead the company’s sale and leaseback and restructuring programmes.

Iain has a wealth of experience gained over the last nine years in senior financial roles in travel, property and aerospace industries. He spent four years with Thomson, was corporate treasurer for British Aerospace from 1996 to 1998, and prior to that was finance director with UK property company, Arlington Securities.
