Hyatt Regency Orange County has completed a $40 million expansion and renovation featuring a new guestroom tower with dedicated kid`s suites, new meeting space including a 17,000 square foot ballroom with a 24-foot ceiling, a totally renovated atrium lobby, and the addition of a new restaurant and bar. The hotel celebrated today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening event.

The hotel has added a 258-room wing, the North Tower, taking the hotel`s total number of guestrooms and suites from 396 to 654. An attractive feature for families, the North Tower offers 87 dedicated kid`s suites, a first for Hyatt hotels. The kid`s suites are decorated in an aquatic pattern and include a bunk bed and kid-size table with chairs. Each of the kid`s suites connects to a separate guestroom for the parents. The North Tower guestrooms are elegantly appointed but provide a comfortable atmosphere. The rooms feature floor to ceiling windows creating a light and airy feel.

Hyatt Regency Orange County`s expansion increased the hotel`s public function space from 30,000 to 65,000 square feet featuring more than 40 versatile meeting rooms. A highlight of the expansion is the addition of the new 17,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom with a 24-foot ceiling, dramatic lighting and the latest technology. The Grand Ballroom can accommodate 2,000 people, is divisible into seven sections and provides more than 5,000 square feet of prefunction space. The hotel`s existing 10,370-square-foot Royal Ballroom was renovated during the expansion.
The hotel`s new North Tower also features new meeting space. Four Garden Rooms have been added on the lobby level and can be combined to accommodate 400 people. The second floor of the North Tower offers four beautifully appointed hospitality suites and 10 meeting rooms, all with high-speed Internet access.
Hyatt Regency Orange County`s 17-story atrium lobby has been completely remodeled using marble and granite complimented by rich wood and brushed metallic finishes creating a contemporary look. Towering palm trees and a water feature behind the front desk add a natural feel. The front desk has been redesigned and located in the middle of the lobby providing a natural flow between the two guestroom towers.
The California Grill restaurant and Networks Bar have been added to the hotel`s atrium lobby. Intricate beveled glass delineates these areas from the lobby. The California Grill features fresh food, cutting-edge presentations and crisp service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The architectural features of Networks are anything but ordinary making the bar a fun place to relax and unwind. High-speed Internet access has been included for guests who want to surf while they enjoy a libation. Starbucks Coffee and Pizza Hut Express will also be included in the lobby by April 2002 to provide guests with more dining options.

Two pools, a spa, tennis courts and health club provide guests with a variety of recreation opportunities.
