Hospitality Properties Trust (NYSE: HPT) today announced a regular quarterly dividend of $0.71 per common share ($2.84 per share per year). This dividend is based upon the operating results for the quarter ended March 31, 2002.

This regular quarterly dividend will be paid to common shareholders of record as of the close of business on April 24, 2002, and distributed on or about May 23, 2002.

HPT is a real estate investment trust headquartered in Newton, Massachusetts. HPT has investments of approximately $2.6 billion in 230 hotels in 37 states.
