Cendant Names President For Knights Inn And Villager Brands

Cendant Corporation`s Hotel Division today announced the appointment of Anthony A. Falor as president & chief executive officer of its Knights Inn and Villager brands, effective next month.


Falor formerly served as senior vice president, franchise sales & development, for Cendant`s Villager and Wingate Inn brands. From 1996 to 1999 he was midwest regional vice president for Cendant`s Travelodge and Knights Inn brands. He joined the company in 1990 as a franchise sales director. Falor was named the Hotel Division`s Franchise Salesperson of the Year in 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995, Regional Vice President of the Year in 1996 and 1997 and Senior Vice President of the Year in 1999.


Prior to joining the company, Falor worked for Paramount Hotels Corporation, Chicago, from 1986 to 1990 in various operations and sales capacities. He was introduced to his hospitality career at age seven, helping his father with the hotels he managed. Falor received his bachelor`s degree in accountancy in 1987 from DePaul University, Chicago.

Cendant named Phil Hugh as senior vice president, franchise sales, to replace Falor. Hugh, who formerly served Cendant`s Hotel Division as a regional vice president, franchise sales & development, will be responsible for developing the sales strategy for Wingate Inns throughout the United States beginning January 2002. He formerly was responsible for the implementation and management of the Wingate Inn franchise sales strategy for the western United States. From May 1999 to December 1999 he was responsible for Wingate Inn sales in the eastern United States. In 1999 the Hotel Division named him Regional Vice President of the Year.

From January 1999 to May 1999 he was vice president, franchise sales, for Coldwell Banker, one of Cendant`s real estate brands. He joined Coldwell Banker in 1998 as regional vice president, franchise development, for the Northeast Region. From March 1998 to December 1998, he was vice president, national sales, for Cendant`s Real Estate Division. Hugh received his bachelor`s degree in communications and economics from Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., in 1989.
