Matt Felling, former general manager of the Doubletree Durango in Colorado, has been transferred to the Doubletree Colorado Springs.
Replacing Felling is Peter Marshall, former general manager of the Doubletree Burlingame in San Francisco, California. In addition to the in-house transfers above, Douglas Cole, who most recently served as director of food & beverage operations at the Hilton New York, was promoted to general manager of the Doubletree Paradise Valley Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona. All general managers report to Jerry Gleason, area vice president Arizona/Mountain region.
Matt Felling, a 20-year Doubletree veteran, began his career with the Doubletree Corporate Woods in 1982. From 1988 to 1994 he served as director of rooms for Doubletree properties in Tucson and Phoenix, Arizona and Overland Park, Kansas. In 1994, Felling was promoted to general manager of the Doubletree Indianapolis, Indiana, before relocating to serve in the same capacity in Durango, Colorado.
Peter Marshall, a 20-year hospitality veteran and 15-year Doubletree team member, began his career with Westin Hotels in 1981 as a management trainee at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles, California. From 1985 - 1987, he held the position of general manager for select properties of Tremont Hotels and the Potomac Hotel Group, before coming to the Doubletree Guest Suites Columbus as director of operations. Marshall went on to serve as general manager of Doubletree properties in Dayton, Ohio; Nashville, Tennessee; Troy, Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana, before relocating to the San Francisco/Burlingame property in 1999.
A native of London, England, Marshall received a bachelor of arts degree in hotel/restaurant management from Denver University in Denver, Colorado.
Douglas Cole, a 21-year Hilton veteran, began his career with several food and beverage-related positions at Hilton properties in Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Jacksonville and Miami Beach. In 1982 he served as corporate director of administration for Hilton`s Food and Beverage Division at Hilton Corporate Headquarters in Beverly Hills, California. From 1986 to 1990 Cole held the position of Hilton`s western region director of food and beverage operations. In 1990 he joined ITT Sheraton Corporation as vice president, food and beverage, before returning to Hilton as general manager of the Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton property. From 1995 to present, Cole has served as general manager of such properties as the Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas, Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites, Sheraton Colonial Hotel and Sheraton Newton Hotel, both in Boston.
A native of Ohio, Cole received a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan.
