Thomas E. Herman, Jr. Named General Manager Of The Doubletree Alana Waikiki Hotel

Thomas E. Herman, Jr. has been named general manager of the 313-room Doubletree Alana Waikiki on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

Herman most recently served as director of sales and marketing for the property. He reports to Peter H. Schall, senior vice president-Hawaii region and managing director of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa.


A 26-year hospitality veteran, Herman began his career in 1975 as a junior stock clerk with the Sheraton Waikiki. From then until 1990, he has held several hotel operational and sales positions such as coffee shop manager at the Sheraton Waiakea Village; director of sales for the Sheraton Makaha and Sheraton Molokai; director of sales and marketing for the Coco Palms Resort and director of sales of the Turtle Bay Hilton Golf and Tennis Resort.


In 1994, Herman joined Hilton Resorts Hawaii as regional director of leisure sales. From 1997 to 1998, he held the position of director of revenue management with the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort and Spa before moving to the Doubletree Alana Waikiki Hotels in 1998 as the director of sales and marketing.
