W. Steven Standefer Named Vice President - Tax For Hilton Hotels Corp.

W. Steven Standefer has been named vice president - tax for Hilton Hotels Corp., where he is responsible for tax planning, transactional analysis, audit and compliance and property tax for the company.

Standefer most recently served as vice president - corporate tax for Promus Hotel Corp. Based at the company`s world headquarters in Beverly Hills, he reports to Robert M. La Forgia, senior vice president and controller.


“Steve has a solid background in all facets of tax and is particularly knowledgeable about tax issues impacting our industry,” La Forgia said. “His experience in post-merger restructuring and tax systems integration will be invaluable as we look to maximize the synergies of the Promus acquisition.”


Prior to joining Promus in 1997, Standefer was the director of corporate tax for the Doubletree Hotel Corp., a position he held since 1994. He previously served as senior tax manager for KPMG Peat Marwick, where he began his career in 1987.


Standefer earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration, with an accounting major from Arizona State University and is a certified public accountant.
