Ted R. Ratcliff has been named senior vice president - Hilton/Doubletree operations east for Hilton Hotels Corp.
He reports to Dieter H. Huckestein, executive vice president, Hilton Hotels Corp. and president - hotel operations, owned and managed.
Ratcliff is responsible for the supervision of 40 Hilton and Doubletree Hotels, which includes properties from South Florida to Connecticut. He is based in Orlando, Fla.
A 23-year Hilton employee and 25-year veteran of the hotel industry, Ratcliff has held several positions with the company including executive assistant manager and resident manager at the Hilton Washington; hotel manager and general manager at the Palmer House Hilton; and most recently area vice president - southeast area.
Ratcliff began his career in 1976 with the Las Vegas Hilton, holding positions such as purchasing agent, food & beverage controller and catering assistant manager, before becoming the director of catering for the Hilton Washington in 1979. He served as assistant director - food & beverage with the Hyatt Regency Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. before being promoted to executive assistant manager - food & beverage for the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore.
A native of California, Ratcliff received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of California - Santa Barbara.
