Choice Hotels Names David Goldberg Vice President, Strategy And Business Development

SILVER SPRING, Md. (February 20, 2002) - Worldwide hotel franchisor Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) has appointed David Goldberg, vice president, strategy and business development.


In his new position, Goldberg will be responsible for developing corporate strategy; identifying and creating corporate growth and cost reduction opportunities; streamlining processes and leading new technology initiatives; and ensuring the best use of organization capital and resources.


Goldberg, 34, joined Choice in 1999 and has held positions of increasing responsibilities in the areas of strategy, operational effectiveness and the introduction of new technology.


“David played an integral role in Choice`s overall growth last year,” said Joe Squeri, senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. “His innovative strategies and leadership have made a positive impact on company performance.”


In his new position, Goldberg reports directly to Joe Squeri.

Prior to joining Choice, Goldberg served as a consultant for Accenture and held other positions in New York and Washington D.C. He has a M.B.A. from Georgetown University.


Goldberg, originally from Weston, Conn., resides in Rockville, Md. with his wife and two children.
