Choice Hotels Appoints Vice President, Advertising & Marketing Services

Silver Spring, MD (February 7, 2001) - Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH) announced the appointment of Laura D. Bajkowski to the newly-created post of vice president, advertising and marketing services.

In her new position, Bajkowski has oversight responsibility for the company`s $35-$40 million advertising account, providing strategic direction to Choice`s internal creative team and to Arnold Worldwide/Washington, the company`s advertising agency of record. She is also responsible for Choice`s in-house graphic design and directories departments. Bajkowski, who assumed her new post on February 1, reports to Wayne W. Wielgus, Choice`s senior vice president of marketing.

Prior to joining Choice, Bajkowski was president of her own New York-based firm, where she provided strategic marketing, research and advertising consultation to hospitality industry clients including Bass Hotels & Resorts, Forte Hotel Group, Le Meridien Hotels & Resorts and Best Western International. Her firm also worked on partnership marketing projects with major transportation companies such as American, Delta, Continental and TWA Airlines and Avis Car Rental.

Earlier in her career, Bajkowski held client service positions with the advertising agency divisions of the J. Walter Thompson Companies and with McCann-Erickson, servicing such clients as Hilton Hotels Corporation and American Express Travel Services.

She is a graduate of San Diego State University with a B.S. in Business Administration/Marketing. She has also completed graduate coursework at the University of Southern California`s School of Business Administration.
