Park Place Entertainment Corporation (NYSE:PPE) announced today the expansion of the Company’s Board of Directors to twelve directors with the appointment of retired General P.X. Kelley, U.S. Marine Corps, pending appropriate regulatory approvals.
General Kelley previously served as Commandant of the Marine Corps and as a member of The Joint Chiefs of Staff from 1983 until his retirement in 1987. Throughout his distinguished 37-year military career, General Kelley has received numerous awards and decorations, including: Distinguished Service Medals from the Department of Defense, the Department of the Navy, the Department of the Army and the Department of the Air Force, the Silver Star Medal, three awards of the Legion of Merit and two awards of the Bronze Star Medal.

General Kelley is a partner with the investment firm J.F. Lehman & Company and a Director with a number of corporations, among those are: Exant Inc., London Reinsurance Company and the Wackenhut Corporation. He is also Chairman of The Irish American Partnership, a Governor of the NFL Alumni and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, The Alfalfa Club, The Council of Foreign Relations and Rancheros Visitadores.
