Joie De Vivre at Hotel Los Gatos

JOIE DE VIVRE HOSPITALITY (www.jdvhospitality.com), known for its creative collection of lifestyle businesses in the Bay Area, announced today the grand opening of the highly anticipated Hotel Los Gatos, slated for November 18, 2002. This property will be the fourth of Joie de Vivre`s growing Silicon Valley collection. The fifth, San Jose`s Hotel Montgomery, is slated to open in early 2004.
Hotel Los Gatos is nestled in the quiet charm of historic downtown Los Gatos. Located at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the hotel is a short drive from hyper-paced Silicon Valley and the soothing Santa Cruz coast. Hotel Los Gatos is jointly owned by long time Los Gatos business-owner Diana Ogilvie and Pinn Bros. Fine Homes, Hotel Division (www.pinnbros.com). This 72-room property is a rich addition to the landscape of downtown Los Gatos-the result of a unique vision and years of planning by Diane Ogilvie. The hotel was built by Pinn Bros. Fine Homes, Hotel Division, whose portfolio includes San Jose`s Moorpark Hotel. “Rarely does a project exceed my expectations, but this one certainly has. We are confident that Hotel Los Gatos will become a local landmark and a beloved neighbor within the Los Gatos community,” says Greg Pinn, vice president, Pinn Bros. Fine Homes, Hotel Division.
More then just a hotel, this destination escape features a Kuleto`s Italian Restaurant and a Preston Wynne Spa-bringing a new level of luxury to this relaxed California town. Interior designers Marni Leis and Oren Bronstein and architect Jim Starkovich, have created a villa oasis, infused with warmth and character and reflecting a spirited mix of old California charm and the flavors of Mediterranean plazas, stradas and gardens.
Luxurious, yet residentially styled, each unique guestroom captures the nuances of a private villa and is accented by special art treasures and collected objects. Rooms feature amenities that blend the worlds of high tech and high taste; including T1 Internet access, Egyptian cotton linens and vintage Oriental carpets. Additionally, the hotel offers a fitness center, heated pool and hot tub, spectacular courtyards, fountains, patios and over 2,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting and special event space. Hotel Los Gatos rates range from $205 to $495.
This Mediterranean-like atmosphere is the perfect setting for the regionally inspired cuisine of Kuleto`s Italian Restaurant. A top-rated destination restaurant in San Francisco`s Union Square for 15 years, Kuleto`s will bring its distinctive California-Italian cuisine to Hotel Los Gatos. With seating for up to 166 people, the handsome and cozy space designed by Puccini Consulting Design & Development, features high-vaulted ceilings, genuine Italian marble floors, a magnificent mahogany bar and an open kitchen. Kuleto`s will serve lunch and dinner daily.
Hotel Los Gatos also boasts a full service Preston Wynne Spa, providers of outstanding skin and body therapies for over 18 years. Featured in Vogue, Self, Newsweek and USA Today, the Preston Wynne Spa at Hotel Los Gatos will offer a full range of progressive and traditional treatments. Services include massage, facials, beauty and nail treatments, and even a special Guy Spa menu. Spa-goers are sure to feel the effects of stress melt away as they enjoy unique treatments like the indulgent Raspberry Chocolate Truffle Pedicure.
“Uniting Hotel Los Gatos, Kuleto`s and Preston Wynne Spa, this showcase destination has been designed to epitomize the unique charm and sophistication of Los Gatos itself,” says Chip Conley, founder and CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality.
