Choice Brand Light The Night Walk

Representatives from 12 Charleston area Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Clarion, Sleep Inn and MainStay Suites hotels will participate in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society`s Light the Night Walk at Hampton Park on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 6:30 p.m.

The Light the Night Walk is a two- to three-mile non-competitive evening walk to raise funds for blood-related cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin`s disease and myeloma. Funds raised by the walk support research toward finding a cure for blood-related cancers and helps support patients and families with these diseases. Participants of the Light the Night Walk carry illuminated balloons to honor those who have been touched by cancer.

Twelve Charleston area Choice brand hotels have raised more than $1,000 to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and each hotel will send at least one representative to participate in the Light the Night Walk. Choice walkers will sport Choice Hotels International baseball caps during the walk and will carry a Choice Hotels International Banner.

Choice`s participation in the Light the Night Walk was spearheaded by Judy Horry, general manager of the Sleep Inn hotel of Mount Pleasant, S.C. “We wanted to participate in the Light the Night Walk for numerous reasons,” said Horry. “First and foremost to help find a cure for these diseases. But also to join together with our community members in a worthwhile and uplifting experience.”
