Six Continents New Appointment

Six Continents Hotels, Inc. (www.6C.com), the world’s leading hotel group, has named Kirk Kinsell senior vice president of Americas Franchising.

Reporting to Six Continents Hotels, Inc.‘s President, Steve Porter, Kinsell will be responsible for all franchise sales, relations and quality for Six Continents Hotels (SCH) and its portfolio of brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites for the Americas region, including Mexico and Canada.

Previously, senior vice president of franchise for Holiday Inn Worldwide from 1988-1995, Kinsell’s return to the company continues a string of key changes to Six Continents Hotels’ Americas management team as the hotel group works to continually strengthen top-line performance.

Kinsell is a 20-year veteran of the hospitality industry having held positions of increasing responsibility in both operations and marketing with Avado Brands, Inc., ITT Sheraton and Holiday Inn Worldwide. His most recent position was president and chief executive officer for Micell Technologies Inc. Under his leadership, Micell was recognized as the 2001 Entrepreneurial Company of the Year for North Carolina.

Kinsell completed the senior executive program at London Business School in 1992 and earned his masters of professional studies from the School of Hotel Administration, Cornell University in 1980. He received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, San Diego.
