David Trumble has been named external communications director for Best Western International, the world’s largest lodging brand. In his position, he will be charged with overseeing all media relations activities for the company, along with crisis management and brand positioning in the highly competitive, global hotel marketplace.

Trumble comes to Best Western from Mesa Air Group (NASDAQ: MESA) where he was director of Corporate Communications. He was responsible for media and investor relations, along with employee communication for the largest U.S. independent regional airline.
Trumble’s industry experience includes a position as acting vice president at Promus Hotel Corporation through which he restructured the existing corporate communications department following the five billion dollar merger of Promus and Doubletree Hotels. He served as director of Corporate Communications at Doubletree Hotels Corporation prior to the joining of the two companies.
The 15-year corporate communications veteran has also held agency positions with Taylor Advertising and Public Relations and Nordensson Lynn Advertising handling a variety of clients.
Trumble earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Ore. In addition, he is professionally affiliated with the National Investor Relations Institute, the Public Relations Society of America and the American Hotel and Motel Association.
