Nygaard Selected Director, Member Operations

Loyd Nygaard has been promoted to director, Member Operations for Best Western International. In his new position, he will oversee a field and office staff of more than 70 associates that are responsible for improving operational marketability, quality and reservation delivery systems for Best Western properties.

Nygaard joined Best Western in 1988 as Quality Control manager. He was later promoted to manager, Regional Service Consultants and most recently was Best Western’s Regional Service director. Prior to joining Best Western, Nygaard was an owner and operator of three hotels and several other businesses.

Nygaard currently serves on the American Hotel and Motel Association’s Security Committee. He has also been involved with the Kansas Lodging Association, the Convention and Visitor’s Bureaus for the cities of Hays, Salina and Kansas City, Kan. and he was appointed by the governor of Kansas to the Advisory Committee for Food Service and Lodging Standards. Nygaard holds a business degree from Fort Hays State University and is a Certified Hotel Administrator.
