Sloman Appointed Vice President, Operations

Simon C. Sloman has been selected as Best Western’s new vice president of Operations. In his new position, the 29-year industry veteran will oversee membership services, operations support and development for the company.

Sloman comes to Best Western from Hilton Hotels where he was the regional vice president of Operations in Northern California and Hawaii. His industry experience ranges from hotel-level operations to corporate management positions within organizations such as Guest Quarters Suite Hotels, Doubletree and Promus.

Throughout his career, Sloman has become an expert in improving hotel operations. At Promus, Sloman developed a cost complex resulting in annual cost improvement of $650,000 while helping his region achieve the highest employee job satisfaction ratings in the company. At Doubletree, Sloman also established more efficient business plans to produce a year-on-year profit improvement of more than 17 percent per year.

Sloman earned his master’s degree in biochemistry from West Virginia University and his bachelor’s degree in pre-medicine from Morris Harvey College. Sloman is also a certified hotel administrator.
