December Rounds Out Successful Millennium For BW

28th Jan 2000

Expanding an extensive portfolio of hotels and further elevating the brand above the elusive 4,000 mark, 41 new properties were added to Best Western International last month. Of the new additions, 19 hotels in England, Scotland and Wales were added as a result of the merger between Best Western and UK-based Consort Hotels earlier last year.

“Ending 1999 with such an impressive addition of hotels is another benchmark of our recent success,” says Jim Evans, president and chief executive officer for Best Western. “Our goal for the year ahead is to continue to build this brand with quality hotels, such as these.”

As part of the Best Western brand, these hotels will benefit from a variety of services including reservations, national advertising, public relations and brand identity.

Reservations at these hotels may be booked by calling Best Western International’s 24 hour, toll-free reservations number (800) WESTERN. Rooms are also available from Best Western International’s Web site.

Best Western International is a membership association of independently owned and operated hotels. It is the world’s largest lodging brand with more than 4,000 hotels in 84 countries and territories.
