Six Continents Hotels Appoints Jim Young As Vice President Of Global Distribution

Six Continents Hotels Inc., one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announced today that Jim Young has been named vice president of global distribution. In this role, Young will have strategic and tactical responsibility for global distribution systems, travel agent commission processing, database management and the company’s relationships with electronic intermediaries such as Expedia, Orbitz and Priceline. He will be based in Atlanta and will report directly to Tom Seddon, senior vice president of strategic services, Americas, Six Continents Hotels.

Prior to joining Six Continents Hotels, Young was managing director, distribution planning for Continental Airlines. Before joining Continental Airlines, Young was manager of strategic planning at Canadian Airlines as well as a principal with the COBA Group, a London-based strategy consultancy. He has also held various senior management positions in the telecommunications industry throughout his twenty-year career. Young was one of the founders of Orbitz and the Open Travel Alliance. He also represented Continental Airlines on the UATP board and many IATA and ATA management committees.
