Travelweb LLC Named Preferred Provider For Distribution Of Net Rate Hotel Inventory Online

DALLAS/IRVING, Texas - September 24, 2002 - Dallas-based Travelweb LLC today announced it has implemented an agreement with Omni Hotels to serve as the preferred provider for distribution of the luxury hotel brand`s net rate inventory via the Internet.
Travelweb LLC, originally launched as Hotel Distribution System LLC in February 2002, is backed by Hilton Hotels Corporation, Hyatt Corporation, Marriott International, Six Continents Hotels, Starwood Hotels and travel technology provider Pegasus Solutions, Inc.
The two-year agreement includes participation by more than 90 percent of Omni Hotels` owned and managed hotels and resorts throughout North America such as the Omni Berkshire Place in New York and the Omni San Francisco Hotel. Travelweb LLC has already included Omni Hotels` net rates in its private label offerings distributed via third-party sites such as Orbitz. Also, Omni Hotels` discounted inventory will be available via Travelweb.com later this year. Qualifying stays booked online can be applied to Omni Hotels` Select Guest loyalty program for frequent guests.
“Travelweb LLC was designed to be the catalyst to change the online merchant model from the paper and fax manual method to an automated process that benefits both the hotels and the consumer in its simplicity, efficiency, and accuracy,” said Joe Humphry, chief executive officer of Travelweb. “By using Travelweb`s model created for hoteliers by hoteliers, Omni Hotels can ensure top-notch customer satisfaction along with improved revenue and yield management.”
“Through Travelweb LLC`s technology, we have more control over our net inventory, which is now allotted in real-time,” said Tom Chevins, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “This means we can continually offer competitive deals online - even for last-minute travelers - while selling rooms that previously might have gone unsold.”
