A 47-unit Econo Lodge Lakeside hotel, located at 2050 U.S. 41 South with a view of Lake Superior, and is now open.

The Econo Lodge Lakeside hotel, which formerly operated as the EdgeWater Motel, is now owned and operated by Hospitality Management, Inc.

The hotel recently renovated its 100-seat Harbor View Restaurant, which overlooks the lake with a rustic lounge. A $160,000 renovation will also involve redecorating guest rooms with new wallpaper, carpeting, drapes and furnishings. Serta Sleepers and new chairs will also be added to the rooms.

Thirty-six guest rooms include a queen or full size beds. The other 11 rooms feature a queen size bed. Remote-controlled cable television with HBO, telephone with data port, hair dryer and in-room coffee maker are available in each guest room.

Senior rooms feature brighter lighting, large button telephones and television remote controls, lever handles on doors and faucets, alarm clocks with large, easy-to-read numbers, coffee makers and grab bars in the bathrooms.
