Award for Steve Wynn

13th Sep 2002

Steve Wynn, president and CEO of Wynn Resorts, Ltd., will be honored at the lodging industry’s premier investment conference, the second annual Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), January 27-29, 2003, at The Century Plaza Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, Calif. Wynn will be presented with this year’s ISHC Pioneer Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions, vision, achievements, and improvements to hospitality industry.

Given by ISHC - a professional society of leading hospitality consultants who provide various services to hotel owners and operators - the award selects recipients based on three areas of criteria: (1) active involvement, (2) contributions, and (3) personal/organizational attributes and qualities to the hospitality industry.

“Steve’s accomplishments in the lodging and gaming industries truly exemplify the criteria we look for when choosing a recipient of the ISHC Pioneer Award. And, he continues to show that pioneer spirit with his latest projects. To that end, he is very deserving of this award and we look forward to presenting him with it at the upcoming ALIS Conference,” says ISHC President Rick Pastorino.

Wynn joins other industry luminaries including, Randy Smith, president of Smith Travel Research; Michael Leven, president and CEO of US Franchise Systems, Inc.; and Jonathan Tisch, chairman and CEO of Loews Hotels.

ALIS is co-hosted by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and the Burba Hotel Network (BHN). The event, which is designed to address the unique needs of the hospitality-investment community, provides a meeting and networking place for hotel executives, investors, lenders, developers, and professional financial advisors. The conference features an extensive array of seminars, leading economy experts, and investors to discuss important trends and identify new opportunities.
