Choicebuys.Com Launches New Version

Choice Hotels International (NYSE: CHH) has launched a new version of its e-commerce website, ChoiceBuys.com, that greatly simplifies the ordering process and enhances the site`s research, tracking and budgeting capabilities.

The newest version of ChoiceBuys.com is powered by Comergent Technologies® Inc., one of the industry`s leading providers of sell-side e-business software. Comergent`s e-business clients include such renowned firms as Cisco Systems, Goodyear, Maytag, Nissan, Symbol Technologies and DuPont.
“Our aim in launching this new version of ChoiceBuys.com was to build on the site`s existing strengths - ease of navigation, volume of products and overall value,” said Brad Douglas, vice president, Strategic Partnerships for Choice. “This new version enables users to realize even greater efficiencies and cost savings.”
According to Douglas, the ChoiceBuys.com hardware is all new, the product database has been redesigned and the software has been improved to allow customers to use the system quickly and efficiently. “Our customers need to be able to access ChoiceBuys.com as quickly as possible,” he said. “This new version is faster, more stable and offers more time- and money-saving features.”
The new version of ChoiceBuys.com increases the search options that enable users to find specific products in less time; simplifies the order process, improving the recurring orders functionality and new order tracking, thereby enabling users to track expenses and maintain budgets more efficiently; and allows customers to research products and pricing by using side-by-side comparisons.
Named one of the 200 most promising business-to-business web sites by Forbes.com in 2000, ChoiceBuys.com was launched in April 1999 as one of the industry`s first e-procurement systems. To date, more than 250,000 products and services are marketed on the site, with more than 3,200 Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, Quality, Clarion, Sleep Inn, Econo Lodge, Rodeway Inn and MainStay Suites brand hotels registered as users. As of June 30, 2002, Choice franchisees had purchased nearly $5 million in products and services via ChoiceBuys.com.
