Peter Bowling Appointed Managing Director of Rosewood`s Jumby Bay

Dallas - Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has appointed Peter Bowling managing director of Jumby Bay, the exclusive Caribbean private island hideaway off the coast of Antigua. The Jumby Bay Owners Association recently named Rosewood Hotels & Resorts to manage the 39-room resort.

In his new post, Bowling will supervise both a property refurbishment and operational relaunch of Jumby Bay, scheduled to be completed by December 1.

“Peter Bowling comes to us with an extensive background in the opening and managing of luxury Caribbean resorts,” said Ray Jacobi, chief operating officer of Rosewood. “He has an intimate knowledge of the property, having previously served as food and beverage director for four years in the 1980s, and we will greatly benefit from his former association and are pleased to have him back as managing director,” he added.
Previously, Bowling served as managing director of the first boutique-style Country House Hotel on Barbados, “Villa Nova.” In this post, he supervised a four-year construction and successful opening, which achieved international accolades. Prior to that, Bowling was general manager of Cotton House Hotel in Mustique, St. Vincent & The Grenadines, general manager of Royal Pavilion Hotel in St. James, general manager of The Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels, Maryland, and general manager of Chilston Park Country House in Kent, England.

Jumby Bay is a 300-acre island that is located minutes from Antigua`s V.C. Bird International Airport. In addition to the five-star resort, the island contains private estates, villas, and home sites.
