Fairmont Hotels & Resorts (FHR) announces a partnership with a subsidiary of Universal Express, Inc., (OTC BB:USXP)Virtual Bellhop, a door-to-door luggage courier service that transports baggage, sports equipment and business materials for airline travelers. Guests will now be able to travel virtually luggage free with the service, which will be offered to guests traveling from points within the United States starting August 15, 2002.
Fairmont guests will be able to call a dedicated toll-free number to get quotes and book the Virtual Bellhop service, while members of Fairmont President`s Club (FPC), Fairmont`s complimentary frequent guest program, will also receive discounted rates. For a limited time, a select group of FPC Platinum members will be able to test the service, compliments of Fairmont, on a trial basis and offer feedback on the program.
To place an order, the guest calls 1- 800-766-8535, a dedicated FHR line at Virtual Bellhop. A rate will be calculated, based on factors including distance, number of bags, weight and speed—next or second-day delivery. FPC members will receive tiered discounts: Club members receive a 10% discount, Gold is 15% off while Platinum members receive a 20% discount off rates.
The partnership is currently offered in the United States only; The Virtual Bellhop plans to expand its service to Canada later this year.
After the order is placed, the Virtual Bellhop picks up the guest`s luggage from a home, office or other designated location and delivers it to the hotel. Round-trip service can also be arranged, so at the end of a stay, the guest can simply leave their luggage with hotel personnel for pick up. The service packs and weighs baggage, completes freight bills and tracks the shipment until it arrives at its final destination, guaranteeing 100% customer satisfaction.
