Lodging Industry Luminary JW Marriott To Receive Lifetime Achievement Award At Alis
Washington, August 2, 2002-Marriott International Chairman of the Board and CEO J.W. “Bill” Marriott will be honored at the lodging industry’s premier investment conference, the second annual Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS), January 27-29, 2003, at The Century Plaza Hotel & Spa in Los Angeles, Calif. The prestigious ALIS Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Marriott in recognition of his commendable accomplishments in the lodging industry as well as for the honorable deeds he has performed in throughout several communities throughout his lifetime.
“We believe Mr. Marriott is a true shining star within the hospitality community. He has dedicated and committed his life to the image and future of the hotel industry, while at the same time garnering respect from his peers and colleagues. He is truly deserving of this award because he continues to give his very best,” said BHN President and Conference Chairman Jim Burba.
In its second year, ALIS is co-hosted by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and the Burba Hotel Network (BHN). The event, which is designed to address the unique needs of the hospitality-investment community, provides a meeting and networking place for hotel executives, investors, lenders, developers, and professional financial advisors. The conference features an extensive array of seminars, leading economy experts, and investors to discuss important trends and identify new opportunities.
In addition, the ALIS award for Transaction of the Year 2002* will be presented at the conference. The finalists will be announced in late December.
