Oberoi Hotels Win Awards

In keeping with the group`s award-winning tradition, The Oberoi, Mumbai, The Oberoi, Bali and The Oberoi, Mauritius recently won international awards in recognition for their commitment to qualitative excellence. The Oberoi, Mumbai won the Leaders Club Silver Award at the fifth annual Leaders Club awards ceremony at Los Angeles. The Oberoi, Bali and The Oberoi, Mauritius were declared winners of the first annual Leading Hotels of the World Commitment to Quality Awards, one of the most coveted accolades in the luxury hotel industry, at Los Angeles. The Oberoi Bali received the highest overall score given to a hotel, regardless of region and size. The Oberoi, Mauritius won the award for the Leading Small Hotel in the Africa/Middle East region.
The Leading Hotels of the World Commitment to Quality Awards are one of the most prestigious international awards given to a leading hotel and a leading small hotel with the highest scores for their individual regions. The 395 member hotels of the organization represent the finest and most varied group in the world in terms of a broad spectrum of style and size.

Stringent and comprehensive benchmarks are used in selecting the winners. Member hotels are inspected more than once. In addition, the jury visits hundreds of other hotels that aspire for membership to The Leading Hotels of the World. The exercise results in the compilation of an extensive database upon which the organization`s standards are based.

The winners of Commitment to Quality awards are selected primarily upon the scores they receive. Additional factors considered are comments and feedback from guests and their status and uniqueness in their respective markets. The awards include a certificate, a custom-designed commemorative bronze plaque and exclusively designed lapel pins to be worn by hotel staff to commemorate the honor.
