Great Eagle Appoints General Manager


Hong Kong, July 10th, 2002—- Mr. Eric So, Executive Vice President of Great Eagle Hotels International, has announced the appointment of Brett Butcher as General Manager of its new hotel that opens in Mongkok, Kowloon in 2004.

The 758-room four-star hotel, which has yet to be officially named,  forms an integral part of the impressive retail, commercial and hotel complex.

Butcher joins Great Eagle from the Regal Airport Hotel Hong Kong where he was also General Manager. Prior to that, he was with Sheraton, most recently as General Manager/Area MD, Four Points Sheraton Hotel Sydney and before that, as General Manager, Sheraton Auckland Hotel Towers.

He has extensive experience in new hotel projects, having been involved in hotel openings in Brisbane (1984), Shanghai (1986) and Noosa (1990),  which stands him in good stead for the Mongkok hotel opening.

In addition, he has also held regional sales and marketing and rooms division roles with Sheraton in Asia Pacific and holds a Bachelor of Business in Hospitality Management.
