Sol Costa Daurada Hotel Opens

Friday, 5th. July, 2002. Sol Meliá has announced the opening of a new hotel on the Mediterranean coast of Spain at Salou: the Sol Costa Daurada, located only a ten minute walk away from the leisure park “Universal Mediterránea”, including the theme park “Universal Port Aventura” and water park “Costa Caribe”. The official inauguration of the hotel occurred in June and was attended by the Mayor of Salou, Esteve Ferrán, the Sol Meliá Regional Director for Catalonia and Levante, Francisco Velázquez, and the President of the Filoglass Grup, Fernando González Enfedaque, amongst other personalities.

Due to its status as an associated hotel with Universal Mediterránea, the four-star Sol Costa Daurada offers guests a number of exclusive benefits such as the purchase of tickets for the complex, free transfers from the hotel and a weekly visit by the theme park characters to the hotel. With 300 fully-equipped and comfortable rooms, the new hotel has been designed to provide the widest range of activities for the whole family.

The excellent daytime and evening entertainment program at the Sol Costa Daurada provides children and adults with an opportunity to enjoy games of all kinds, sports and live shows. The hotel also provides three swimming pools, a gymnasium, a central restaurant with buffet service, an “à la carte” restaurant, a lobby bar and snack bar by the pool. There are also two meeting rooms for up to 300 guests for meetings and other special events.

Sol Meliá consolidates its presence in the Province of Tarragona:

The inauguration of the Sol Costa Daurada is another indication of Sol Meliá‘s determination to diversify its hotel portfolio and also support the promotion of theme parks. The company has recently opened another two four-star hotels in the Province of Tarragona: the Tryp Port Cambrils with 160 rooms in the marina area of the sea-side town of the same name, and the Sol Pirámide Salou with 230 rooms and a magnificent location alongside “Universal Mediterránea”. The opening of these three hotels has allowed Sol Meliá to build a significant presence in the Costa Daurada and achieve its objective of promoting higher quality resort tourism.
