BW Donates Fire Victims

PHOENIX å—Best Western, working under the auspices of Best Western for a Better World made a large donation of personal hygiene items for the evacuees, firefighters, police and aid workers impacted by the Rodeo-Chediski fire in Northern Arizona. One million toiletries ranging from mouthwash, to soap to razors to combs were donated by the lodging giant that has its international headquarters in Phoenix, Ariz.
The donation includes both items from Best Western and its purveyor, Marietta Corporation who supplemented the donation with additional products. The approximate retail value of the items is at $100,000. Employees at the company’s three metropolitan Phoenix offices are also enhancing this donation with voluntary payroll deductions.

“Best Western is a part of the community and has hotels that are directly impacted by the fire,” explains Jim Evans, president and CEO of Best Western International. “We have hotel operators who have literally turned their hotels into a second home for the firefighters on the front line. We wanted to support that kind of generosity with a donation from our corporate offices in this time of need.”
Employees drove up the first shipment of items from Phoenix last Friday. That delivery included approximately 50,000 items. Another semi-truck full of products will be delivered to the Red Cross facility in Snowflake tomorrow.

Best Western International is The World’s Largest Hotel Chain? with more than 4,000 hotels in 80 countries and territories. Best Western is a membership association of independently owned and operated hotels that provides marketing, reservations and operational support to its members.
