Hilton and Doubletree Dive Into Fourth of July Weekend

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jun 27, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE)—On Saturday, July 6, nearly 70 Hilton(R) and Doubletree(R) hotels in the United States and the Caribbean (July 29 in Canada) will participate in a special Summer Dive-In Movie Celebration to commemorate the 10th birthday of the Vacation Station(R) family travel program.
Taking over where the more traditional drive-in leaves off, the Dive-In Movie allows guests to enjoy a classic family movie on a large projection screen while relaxing in the pool (at select locations). The Dive-In Movie is one of three special summer Vacation Station 10th birthday events.

In addition to offering poolside movie viewing and a movie-themed snack bar featuring favorite film refreshments such as popcorn, soda and candy, some hotels may stage more elaborate affairs complete with movie sing-alongs and trivia contests.

The Dive-In Movie is offered to all family guests staying at participating Hilton and Doubletree hotels and resorts during the Fourth of July weekend (Canada Day weekend in Canada) at no extra charge. Movie showings will begin at dusk by the hotel pool, though some properties may show movies at an indoor venue due to space considerations.

One of the longest running and most comprehensive family travel programs available today, Vacation Station is offered free of charge at nearly 90 Hilton and Doubletree properties in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean from Memorial Day to Labor Day. In addition to being one of the few hotel programs to provide free use of age-appropriate toys and games to kids and families during their hotel stay, Vacation Station also offers a welcome gift for kids, destination-specific information about local happenings and attractions for parents and supervised kids activities at 13 of its participating properties.

Children ages 18 and under stay free in the same room with their parents or grandparents at all U.S. Vacation Station properties (subject to room occupancy and local fire safety regulations). Vacation Station is offered at no additional charge to guests traveling with children age 12 and under to participating hotels between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Participation fees and age qualification at resorts and hotels offering supervised activities vary by location and season. The program also is available year-round at 23 hotels and resorts located in frequently visited family vacation destinations such as Florida, the Caribbean and California.
