Six Continents Hotels Appoints Charlie Cahill as VP Sales&Marketing

ATLANTA (June 27, 2002) - Six Continents Hotels, Inc. (www.6C.com), the world’s leading hotel group, has named Charlie Cahill its new vice president of sales and marketing for Midscale Operations.

Reporting to Six Continents Hotels’ area president of Midscale Operations for North America Tom Murray, Cahill will be responsible for enhancing the revenue performance of the company managed midscale hotel portfolio. As well, he will be responsible for further developing the midscale sales organization, culture and support functions with a focus on training, staffing, reporting and incentive program management. Cahill will also direct the field-based sales development group in conjunction with the company’s operations team.

“Charlie is a seasoned veteran of the hospitality industry with extensive sales experience gained from several major hotel companies, including Marriott and Hilton,” said Murray. “He has achieved many successes throughout his career which will be a great benefit to our sales force at Six Continents Hotels.”

Before joining Six Continents, Cahill was senior vice president of marketing for WestCoast Hotels, a division of WestCoast Hospitality Corporation. In this role he developed marketing, brand revenue management strategies and led central reservations for the WestCoast and Red Lion hotel organizations. Cahill was also responsible for all of the company’s franchise marketing activities.

Prior to his tenure at WestCoast Hospitality Corporation, Cahill served four years with Hilton Hotels Corporation, most recently as vice president of sales and brand marketing for Red Lion Hotels & Inns. As well, Cahill was a regional director of sales and marketing for the Pacific Northwest region for Promus Hotel Corporation and in California for Doubletree

Hotels Corporation. Cahill also spent 11 years with Marriott International, Inc. holding several sales and marketing related leadership roles at Marriott properties in the United States and the Caribbean.

Cahill holds a degree from Seton Hall University W. Paul Stillman School of Business.
