Guests To Earn Free Nights At La Quinta This Summer

DALLAS (June 18, 2002) - Just in time for the summer travel season, La Quinta® invites guests to stay three times and get a night free. Beginning June 17 through Sept.15, guests staying at any La Quinta hotel nationwide at least three times will automatically earn a free night’s stay.

According to a Travel Industry Association of America (TIA) survey, 77 percent of last-year travelers plan to take at least one trip this summer. The TIA study also suggests most travelers plan to spend less on pleasure trips than they did last summer, while 76 percent plan to travel by car. Almost one-third of people traveling by car will do so because they consider it to be the least expensive mode of transportation.

“Summer is the busiest and sometimes most expensive travel season of the year,” said Francis W. “Butch” Cash, president and chief executive officer for La Quinta Corporation. “Because our hotels are located near most major destinations and attractions, La Quinta is a logical choice for many travelers. Our ‘Stay Three Times, Get One Night Free’ promotion will allow our guests to enjoy their summer vacation and look forward to a free night’s stay later on.”

To take advantage of this offer, guests simply register prior to their first night’s stay at www.LQ.com or by calling 800-531-5900. After a third stay, guests will automatically receive a free night certificate. A stay is one or more consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of check in/check out occurrences. Guests can receive up to a maximum of two free night certificates. Free night certificates will be redeemable at participating hotels August 16, 2002 through Dec. 30, 2003, based upon availability.
