This sweet Doubletree tradition has now reached legendary status. Right now, in a gold safe at a Nashville, Tenn., bakery, the 100 millionth Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookie waits its turn to be delivered to one of the 155 Doubletree properties in the United States, Mexico and Latin America and presented to one special guest some time during the next four weeks.

In the 1980s, many Doubletree properties across the country began the tradition of baking warm chocolate chip cookies solely for VIP guests. However, in 1995, Doubletree enlisted the services of Nashville-based Christie Cookie Company to hold the secret recipe to a consistent chocolate chip cookie that could be delivered and presented to every Doubletree guest at check-in. During the past seven years, Doubletree has developed a loyal following of chocolate chip cookie lovers and delivered the same chocolate chip cookie to millions of hungry hotel guests and customers.
The Doubletree brand team has carefully analyzed and tracked this “Milestone Cookie” for months and recently selected the 100 millionth cookie from a bakery conveyor belt at Christie Cookie Company, where Doubletree`s famous cookie dough continues to be made daily. The 100 millionth cookie has been placed in a special, commemorative safe where it awaits, frozen in dough form, for final shipping instructions to the appropriate Doubletree property—where it will be properly baked and served fresh and warm for the 100 millionth time.
When the cookie is ready for shipment, Dave Horton, who oversees and manages the Doubletree brand, will pick up the Milestone Cookie from the Christie Cookie factory, take it to the designated Doubletree hotel and personally present the 100 millionth cookie to that special guest during check-in.
