Ramada International Hotels & Resorts, a division of Marriott International (NYSE: MAR), announced that the first Ramada Encore Hotel will open in York, England, in June under a franchise agreement with Stannifer Hotels Group, PLC. Encore Hotels are Ramada International’s stylish product designed to appeal to young-spirited travelers of all ages in the mid-priced, limited-service tier.
“We are thrilled to be opening the first Ramada Encore hotel in York. With its thriving tourist and business communities, we think York is the perfect location for Encore, which is both stylish and cost effective,” said Reas Kondraschow, senior vice president and general manager, Ramada International Hotels & Resorts.
The 104-room Ramada Encore York will feature Encore’s signature style, including their use of contemporary furnishings and bright colors. Guests will be able to congregate in the hotel’s ground-floor Hub area, an intimate gathering space. In addition, the hotel will feature a premier coffee shop.
The Ramada Encore York’s guest rooms feature functional lighting that can be easily adapted by the guest and have a work area with dataports and electrical outlets so business travelers can maximize their time. Glass is the signature of Ramada Encore’s guest room bathrooms - from interior bathroom walls to the vanity unit.
The hotel will be located in the western portion of York City Center, within walking distance of the city’s major tourist attractions and the railway station.
The hallmarks of all Ramada hotels will continue to be an essential aspect of Encore as well. These are: a restful sleep, an invigorating shower, well-trained staff, an exceptional level of cleanliness and the “Ramada Morning Breakfast” - a selection that is hot, delicious and easy.
The Ramada Encore York will feature Ramada’s signature complimentary breakfast buffet as well as a limited-selection bar/brasserie menu, including sandwiches and toasted panini. Guests who are pressed for time on departure will also have the ability to order ‘Breakfast to Go’ when checking in and their breakfast will await them on check out.
