AA Adds Self Service Machines in Colorado Springs
American Airlines
announces the installation of four Self-Service Check-In machines at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport å- adding to a growing array of customer convenience tools for the airlineå‘s passengers.
Bright yellow arrows direct customers with domestic electronic tickets to the machines located at each airport.
“Passenger demand for convenience and more control of their travel experience is driving an industry-wide move toward self-service,” said Ralph Richardi, American’s Senior Vice President - Customer Service. “Since we rolled out our first Self-Service Check-In machine two years ago, more than 9 million customers have used these convenient time savers to check in for their flights, select seats, obtain boarding passes, and even check luggage, all in one quick-and-easy stop.
“And with American’s recent enhancements, customers now have the ability to use these machines to stand by for an earlier or later flight and to request an upgrade using their AAdvantage electronic upgrades,” Richardi added. “Of course, our professional customer service agents are also available to assist passengers who desire or need additional assistance at our airport ticket counters.”
There are currently 613 American Self-Service Check-In machines at airports throughout the United States, including 13 units at the two major airports in the state of Colorado. American plans to install machines in additional cities throughout 2003.
For passengers with paper or electronic tickets wishing to check in, get boarding passes and check baggage at the airport before entering the terminal, American offers more than 300 mobile Curbside Check-In units in over 80 cities. Passengers who have used American’s Web check-in feature can check their bags through Curbside Check-In as well.
