GoldTrail Goes for a TravelOptions Solutions Double

GoldTrail, the UK`s largest independent tour operator to Turkey, has announced it will harness TravelOption`s viewdata and internet distribution systems, in a bid to step up sales and enhance relationships with travel agencies nationwide.


After using TravelOptions` ADD (Agency Distribution Download) solution for two years, GoldTrail has now decided to extend its association with the leading technology provider by adding the two key distribution channels.


GoldTrail will sell to agents on viewdata through network market leader NTL Business (Travel Division), providers of Traveleye - the travel industry`s leading selling and reservations system. The breakthrough means agents will be able to book GoldTrail live - enhancing the operators existing distribution to agents through the ADD solution (the system which allows operators to download holiday availability onto an electronic bulletin board).


GoldTrail has also opted for TravelOptions` internet solution - selling to consumers through a dedicated website - www.goldtrail.co.uk

. In addition to consumer bookings, the company has announced its intention to offer a travel agents commissionable website, which will be powered by TravelOptions.

GoldTrail, which was established in 1997 and specialises in holidays to Turkey, Tunisia, Malta and Egypt, is currently witnessing sales in excess of 17,000 holidays sold annually.

 

Kadir Aydin, director at GoldTrail commented: “The decision to extend GoldTrail`s relationship with the trade through TravelOptions` viewdata and internet distribution solutions follows a successful 2002 summer season.”

 


He continues: “We will commence with a marketing awareness campaign to agents in mid-November to dramatically raise our industry profile.”

According to TravelOptions, its reservation system is one of the most cost-effective front-, mid- and back-office tour operating environments on the market, as it operates on a PC server, removing the need for high-cost, high-maintenance server systems. As a result the solution can operate across up to 200 individual PCs or dumb terminals, at speeds faster than high-cost products.
