Sabre offers e-tickets for SWISS and Cathay Pacific

Sabre ConnectedSM travel agencies in the United Kingdom are now able to issue electronic tickets for travel on SWISS and Cathay Pacific Airways.
This brings to 18 the number of airlines that offer UK e-ticketing capabilities in the Sabre

global distribution system (GDS).

Stuart Nassos, Sabre’s vice president of marketing and customer services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said growth in e-ticket usage by British travellers was continuing.

“We are encouraging travel agents to use this form of ticketing as it helps to streamline their management processes while also reducing agency overhead and fulfilment costs”, he said.

With a growing number of airlines imposing surcharges for paper tickets, electronic ticketing is fast becoming an accepted form of ticketing in the UK.  While expanding the use of e-tickets, Sabre also provides reports for its travel agency customers listing any that have not been used.  These reports are free of charge and make it easier for agents to identify and request refunds on behalf of their customers.
