Travelocity Scoops Top Honour Named `Best travel website` at British Travel Awards 2002

The TTG/Teletext British Travel Awards, saw leading UK
travel
site Travelocity.co.uk take the award for Best Travel Website, beating off
competition from companies such as Expedia.co.uk, Holidayautos.co.uk,
Lastminute.com and last year`s winners Thomascook.com.

51%
of the votes in its category, the runner up was some 37% behind this total.

The overall results, announced at a ceremony in Battersea Marquee, spanned
27
categories and were voted for by travel agents.  Over 6,000 travel agents
voted
in total.


Other industry leaders, alongside Travelocity, recognised at this event
included British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Kuoni.
