has signed agreements with technology companies Patheo and SolarNet to enhance the participation of air consolidators in Sabre Rate Manager, Sabre`s consolidator fare distribution and booking tool.
The new partners will bring added consolidator content to Sabre Connected travel agents in North America, thus enhancing revenue opportunities and providing agents more options for serving their customers with a broader range of low fare options. Sabre Rate Manager provides a fully automated solution for fare searches, sales, mark-up and fulfillment, thus reducing time and cost spent on searches and reservations, further facilitating the relationship between consolidators and retail agencies.
Patheo offers yield management and automated booking capabilities, including a complete fare management and booking solution for air consolidator fares.
is a provider of business-to-business information management and electronic distribution solutions for the travel industry. The company`s key products and services will be directly integrated with products from Sabre to bring value to travel agents.
Both companies entered into a sales partnership in 2000. “These new technology partners will add greater breadth and depth of consolidator fares to our Sabre Rate Manager offering, and this reinforces our commitment to travel agents emphasized with our previously announced Empowering Agenda,” said Ellen Keszler, senior vice president of North America Travel Agent Solutions for Sabre. “Working with Patheo and SolarNet, we will provide additional opportunities for agents to better compete in today`s pay-for-performance environment. Sabre Rate Manager also streamlines consolidators` distribution of their negotiated fares to preferred agency customers.”
The teaming with Patheo and SolarNet will be in addition to the existing partnership with Farelogix, another leading fare management firm, for Sabre Rate Manager. For consolidators, the Sabre Rate Manager tool offers streamlined distribution of their negotiated fares to preferred agency customers. It allows consolidators to take the burden off their call centers and simplify the fare filing, publishing, distribution and fulfillment process. Through this tool, consolidators can efficiently distribute their product through the Sabre Connected network of agencies responsible for more than 47 percent of North America GDS air bookings instantaneously—offering a valuable outlet for negotiated fares that often have expiration dates that limit shelf life.
