GetThere Appointment Signals European Growth Ambitions


GetThere, a Sabre Company, the worldå‘s leading provider of online corporate travel reservation systems, has appointed Richard Adams vice president and general manager of its European operation, reporting to GetThere president Jeff Palmer. 
He is tasked with expanding GetThere

‘s European presence by growing the company’s customer base within the European online corporate travel market, and driving greater use of corporate online booking across the region. 


Adams was formerly vice president of global business development, and vice president of Europe at Dendrite International, a leading customer relationship management and sales support provider to the pharmaceutical industry.  He also held senior positions at online business information provider IMS International. Adams’ background in product and business development, country management, sales and marketing is multinational in scope, with experience in the UK, continental Europe and the United States. 


Jeff Palmer, president of GetThere, said Adams’ experience in customer relationship management and sales effectiveness would be instrumental in driving GetThere’s continued growth in Europe.


“Traditionally only a small percentage of all European corporate travel bookings have been made online”, Palmer said.  “This is changing, though, as companies start to look for new and more efficient ways to manage the significant sums that they spend each year on business travel.  Richard is ideally placed to help GetThere accelerate that change in the burgeoning European corporate online travel market.”
